Film Festival of Faculty of Informatics is an annual festival organized by students of MU, and this year, it’s happening in person, the same way it was before the pandemic. The festival is happening under the auspices of FI MU‘s prof. Jiří Zlatuška and the Mayor of Brno JUDr. Markéta Vaňková. This year’s theme focuses on the different views we all have in life. The films will be judged in two categories, one by a panel of professionals and the other by the audience. The author of the winning short film will get a monetary prize; other teams will get prizes from the festival’s sponsors. The festival will be broadcasted on Youtube as well.

A short look into the festival's history: the first time something similar happened was in 1999 when an audiovisual project was created to celebrate the faculty’s fifth anniversary. Even though students were excited about filmmaking, they needed equipment and mentorship - later, courses related to that were created and opened to all the students across the university. The first Film Festival happened in 2001, and this is the 22nd year it’s been happening.
