The excursion offers a chance to get to know a bit about Hungary and its capital, Budapest, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Situated on the Danube River in the heart of the Carpathian Basin, Budapest has been strongly influenced by its geology throughout the course of history. Hot springs gushing water ranging from 35-760 Centigrade gave rise to a flourishing culture of spas back in the Roman period and now make Budapest one of the most popular spa cities in Europe. The Danube runs through the city, separating its two main parts, Buda and Pest. The Royal Castle and the district around it is the key visiting area on the Buda side of the city while the Parliament Building and shopping area is a great attraction in the Pest part. We’ll be visiting the most interesting and famous sights of the capital:  the Liberty, Elizabeth and Chain Bridge, the Castle District, Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Fishermen’s Bastion, the Géllert Hill, Citadel and Statue of Liberty with its breathtaking view out over the city. Across the Danube on the busier Pest side we will see the impressive Parliament Building, Opera House, St. Stephen’s Basilica, shopping area in Vaci Street (Central and Eastern market) and many more sights on the way to the spectacular  Heroes’ Square, Millennium Monument, Széchenyi Thermal Bath or ZOO garden.

Welcome to Buda-Pest and also to the famous thermal spa!
